K-Drama: Emergency Couple

I'm back with another K-drama! This is late review but still! I want to do this post since I'm loving this drama. :)
Emergency Couple Poster

Synopsis I got from Asianwiki.com

"Jin-Hee (Song Ji-Hyo) led a satisfying life as a dietitian. She then met medical school student Chang-Min (Choi Jin-Hyuk). Despite his wealthy family's strong opposition, Jin-Hee and Chang-Min decided to get married. Chang-Min's family is full of doctors. Chang-Min though gave up his medical internship and began working as a pharmaceutical salesman. Their marriage life was not happy. Chang-Min's family looked down on Jin-Hee and even Chang-Min seemed to change. Chang-Min began to think terribly of Jin-Hee and they finally divorced.
After their divorce, Jin-Hee became a medical student and now works as an intern. Chang-Min also graduated from medical school and begins to work as an intern. One day, they meet in the emergency room for a hospital where they will both work together."

First of all, the drama got me intrigue because of all the promo poster and trailer they released. As you can see in the promo poster above, the lead characters are fighting which is unusual for a rom-com drama. "So why are they fighting?" would be the first reaction and yes, you will eventually starting thinking why and watch the drama. The promo teaser is very effective since it will got you curios about the drama but still not giving away the whole story of it.

This drama is aired by Tvn Network and currently on its 17th episode. This drama has a total of 21 episodes (The production decided to add 1 additional episode that is why it has 21 episodes). This drama also proves that they are getting good ratings since the production decided to extend the drama with one episode.

This drama is about a divorced couple and how their lives got complicated when they saw  or to be exact, work with each other again. What I like about this drama is that they started the story in a different way. Unlike most other dramas, the story began with the two leads (Jin Hee and Chang Min) running and end up in a church to get married. They are young and very much in love, which leads them to have an impulsive (in my point of view) wedding. However, complications came as fast as when got married. Chang Min's family is not in favor of Jin Hee and got no support from them. Jin Hee and Chang Min started fighting and forgot how in love are they with each other. One night, another fight happened, but this time all problems overflow and end up with a really BIG ending. Fast forward to 6 years later, the couple met again in the emergency room, where they will be working with each other as interns in that hospital. Old sparks started to light again and new love lines are add in the story but will they still realize that they are the one for each other? And that is why I we should watch this drama.

My Thoughts:

Like I said, this drama is about to end, so this review maybe useless to avid korean drama viewers, but is you haven't watched this drama and looking for a drama to watch, I am recommending this drama. I love the idea that they did not follow the usual Korean story line (two strangers -> meet each other -> love each other -> happy ending) but flipped the story line and started with a couple sooooo in love with each other but did not work, but still for some reason met again and rekindle their love for each other. PLUS! I support this drama because Song Ji Hyo is here and I'm a fan of her in Runningman. :)

Signed,
Ria <3
