Have you guys heard of the Korean drama "Reply 1997"? Well, if you guys heard about it. This is the sequel drama, which is called "Reply 1994".

Reply 1994 Poster

Synopsis from AsianWiki.com

Through the characters, drama series follows various cultural events in 1994, including the emergence of Kpop group "Seo Taiji and Boys" and the Korean Basketball League.

Okay, so I know that the synopsis is not a help at all, but I will try to explain the drama concept and at the same time not spoil you guys too much! LOL But if you guys already watched "Reply 1997", then you already know the concept ;)

This drama is being aired by tvN and recently announces a good news that this drama will be having an additional 1 episode, so the total episode for this drama is now 21 episodes and is currently on its 11th episode.

This drama draws back to year 1994. Yup! that explains the unusual fashion outfits the casts have in their poster. This drama has this unique drama concept, a mystery that only be answered on the last episode. The drama is about a girl, Na Jung, and how she met her future husband. I think this kind of like "How I Met Your Mother" but the difference is that how she met his husband. At the start of the drama, the story will give you at least 5 suspects on who is her husband was. There are also scenes from year 2013, but mind you that those scenes will just make your mind go more crazy and left you more confuse than before.

The story revolves around the young teens from different regions/states in Korea living in a boarding house in Seoul while they are studying for university. You can see a lot of old gadgets such as beeper and telephone booth that are equivalent to our cell phones now use in the drama. I have to say that production wise, the production team did a really good job getting all the props and clothes that really reflects the life in  year 1994.

So far, the strong candidates to be Na Jung's husband will be Chil Bong, a baseball player and a cousin of one of the boarders in Na Jung's boarding house. Chil Bong likes Na Jung and is determined to get Na Jung's heart.

Another candidate is Na Jung's "oppa" and he is nicknamed as "trash" in the boarding house. Trash is not a biological brother but a family friend that lives with Na Jung's family for a long time. Na Jung, Trash and Na Jung's late(dead) brother are friends since they are kids. Na Jung likes Trash and Trash likes Na Jung back, but Trash is holding it back to avoid family conflicts and to lose Na Jung as a friend if everything did not end right for them.

Both are strong contenders and the writers are really sneaky with the when it comes to predicting who Na Jung will end up with. I really compliment the writer because as a viewer, every episode makes me confuse and wanting to watch the next episodes. When you are predicting Chil Bong will be the husband, the writers will intentionally tease the viewers and make Trash's character be appealing to be the husband.

BTW, if you guys are wondering. I am totally shipping Na Jung and Chil Bong couple! :)

My Thoughts:
I really like the first season of this drama (Reply 1997), so there is no doubt that I also like this season. Besides, Chil Bong is played by Yoo Yeon Seok, which also is part of Gu Family Book, and is soooo hot in this drama. Honestly, I don't find him cute in Gu Family Book, but in this drama he totally is!

If you really like to predict endings of each drama you watch, I challenge you to watch this and see if you can come up with your conclusion. :)

PS. I also recommend you to watch Reply 1997 if you guys have time :)

Signed,
Ria <3
